Featured Dog

Mignon

Our first featured PawStop pet is Mignon. Mignon is French for ‘small’ – well she was small when she was a puppy! She’s a twelve year old Kelpie-Cattle Dog cross who lives with her owners Jean, John and Megan in Wanniassa in the ACT.

Mignon’s a bit tired at the moment because she’s just been for a 7 km walk around the lake. After a long walk she hides in bed for the rest of the day. Being old she’s also a little bit deaf – usually when being called away from something that smells interesting! She starts every day bounding with energy but by about lunchtime she’s ready for a snooze. 12 years old is of course 84 in human years – so she’s doing pretty well!

She’s a bit afraid of bees and smoke. She got stung by a bee once when she was younger and more inquisitive. Her face swelled up like a balloon. Once on the freeway between Sydney and Canberra she smelled smoke and tried to jump out the car window at 110kph. Yes – Kelpies are indestructible!

If you live in the Tuggeranong Region of Canberra you might see Mignon and Jean walking around the lake some times. If you do, stop and give her a pat – she loves people more than anything.
